2000 Years of Deception and Error, Part 4I: Constantine, Augustine, Chalcedon, Aquinas 2007

The Conclusion of my comments about error found on chaceldon.edu.

Here are some more Bible verses to compare with what is being taught at chalcedon, or elsewhere. We always need to discern through the lens of God’s Holy Word. Mostly, we need God’s Word to discern our own hearts. But we do need to be on the alert for false teaching about God’s Kingdom and His ways, so we don’t inadvertently end up following a world ruler who is not Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”—Hebrews 4:12

The Kingdom of God as found in the WORD of GOD

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.“—Mark 1:14, 15

“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”—Luke 17:21

“And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him.”—Luke 8:1

“And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick…And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.”—Luke 9:2, 6

“And he [Jesus] opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”—Matthew 5:2–10

What the WORD of GOD says the disciples did and said after Jesus was ascended.

“But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.”—Acts 5:19, 20

“And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.”—Acts 28:23

“And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.”
—Acts 28:30, 31

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.“—Galatians 5:13, 14

What God’s Word says we are to do.

“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
—Acts 17:11

“I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.“—1 Timothy 4:1, 2

Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
—2 Timothy 1:13

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”—Acts 26:18

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.“—John 13:35

“Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.“—Matthew 16:24

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
—Hebrews 12:2

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
—Titus 2:13, 14

“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.“—2 Peter 3:11
