2000 Years of Deception and Error, Part 7 A: Kingdom of Light & Kingdom of Darkness

As I have researched the different orders of Monastics and what is called the Roman Catholic Church, I realized I was reading about one of many religious systems based on Satan’s original lies and deception of Eve, the first woman. Satan cast doubt on God’s Word and God’s Character, contradicted what God said (in effect calling God a liar), promised knowledge and godhood, and insinuated that God was not out for Adam and Eve’s best interest.

From God’s WORD

“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
—Genesis 3:1

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”—Genesis 3:4, 5

God is not a man, that he should lie…”—Numbers 23:19;

“…God, that cannot lie…”—Titus 1:2

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.“—John 8:44

There are ONLY two Kingdoms mentioned in the Bible. Every belief or unbelief system that does not hold to God’s Word as final authority, belongs to the Kingdom of Darkness. Satan doesn’t care what you believe, or how religious you are or aren’t. He just doesn’t want people to be born into the Kingdom of Light by the truth of God’s Word.

Kingdom of Light/Life
Only ONE way to enter
No darkness
True Peace
God’s Word
Eternal Life

Kingdom of Darkness
focus on self
reject God’s Word
proud, arrogance
false peace/war
believe anything you want
no truth
eternal death

God’s WORD

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”—Romans 6:23

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
—John 14:6

“But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!”—Matthew 6:23

The following are just a few of the differences between what God says in his Word and what is believed and taught in the religion of Roman Catholicism and their monastic groups which trust tradition, men and the “Church” rather than believe God’s WORD.

• Roman Church vs. God’s Word

• bondage to sin and man.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”—Galatians 5:1

• no relief from guilt of sin, no assurance of eternal life, purgatory.

“As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”—Psalm 103:12

“He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”—Micah 7:19

• Mary worshipped as co-redeemer.

“And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.”—Luke 1:46, 47

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”—1 Timothy 2:15

• Jesus always suffering and being sacrificed on the cross and in the eucharist.

“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.”—Romans 6:10

• Celibacy and denial of meat thought spiritual. [Enforcing celibacy as spiritual has been a part of Roman parishes and monasteries for at least 1000 years. The result has led people into horrible bondage of immorality (which is offensive to God) of all kinds, including pedophilia.]

“Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”
—Hebrews 13:4

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith…Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”—1 Timothy 4:1–3

• work for salvation

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”—2 Corinthians 11:3

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”—Romans 5:1,2

• pay for sins by penance, indulgences, and/or physical hurting oneself.

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”—John 1:29

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”—1 John 1:7

“None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)”—Psalm 49:7, 8

My next few posts will discuss several monastic orders and their influence in today’s world. I think you may be surprised. I certainly was.

More from the BOOK

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”—Matthew 24:4

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”
—Hebrews 3:12

“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”—1 Corinthians 10:12

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”—2 Timothy 3:13

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”—Ephesians 4:14

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”—2 Timothy 3:16
